Leisure

Dunvegan is an excellent base from which to explore and experience the delights that Skye has to offer.

Approximately 3 kilometres from Kilmuir Park is Dunvegan Castle, historic seat for many centuries of the Clan MacLeod. The castle has a rich and interesting history and offers visitors informative guided tours.

Fishing packages (Trout and Salmon) are available and all permits and access can be organised, as can the services of a guide.

Other field sports such as shooting and stalking can be arranged for guests at Kilmuir Park during the appropriate seasons - details available on request.

The topography of Skye lends itself to countless interesting walks, both for the energetic and for those of a gentler disposition.

No holiday in Skye is complete without a visit to Portree, the largest town and capital of the island, which bustles with visitors during the holiday season.

The attractive harbour area has restaurants and shops and within the town ample parking is available.

For entertainment, the Aros Centre in Portree stages concerts and also shows current films on a regular basis. Local to Dunvegan, ceilidhs are held regularly throughout the summer season.
